Within the scope of the activity A.2.2.2. “Develop and Implement Participatory Local Governance Model for new 14 MM”, a workshop was held in Balıkesir on 24-25 January 2022 with the participation of representatives of 20 district municipalities and 13 district citizens’ assemblies in Balıkesir in order to support the work launched on “Participatory Budgeting” and the roadmap created with the contributions of local stakeholders. During the two-day workshop, the process design of the participatory budgeting work was discussed and the possible roles/cooperation areas of the citizens’ assemblies in the participatory budgeting studies were discussed by evaluating the examples of the participatory budgeting practices currently available in Turkey.
