Within the scope of the activity A.2.2.2. “Develop and Implement Participatory Local Governance Model for new 14 MM”, a workshop was held in Tekirdağ on 27-28 January 2022 with the participation of representatives of Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality, Tekirdağ Citizens’ Assembly, Malkara Municipality and Malkara District Citizens’ Assembly in order to support the work launched on “Participatory Budgeting” and the roadmap created with the contributions of local stakeholders. On the first day of the workshop, in which Malkara District Municipality Mayor Mr. Ulaş Yurdakul also participated, a general briefing about the 2022 budget of Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality and Malkara Municipality for rural services was given to the representatives of the 12 Working Groups working under the Malkara Citizens’ Assembly, and from this point of view, it was aimed for the representatives of the Working Group to determine the priorities of the neighbourhoods with a participatory approach. In the study carried out on the second day of the workshop, it was aimed to discuss the common neighbourhood priorities determined in a participatory manner with the relevant municipality officials and to determine what could be realized within the 2022 budget and/or included in the 2023 budget studies with a participatory approach.
