Within the scope of the activity A.2.2.2. “Develop and Implement Participatory Local Governance Model for new 14 MM”, a workshop was held in Hatay on 31 January-1 February 2022 with the participation of representatives of Hatay Metropolitan Municipality, Hatay Citizens’ Assembly, Arsuz Municipality and Arsuz District Citizens’ Assembly in order to support the work launched on “Participatory Budgeting” and the roadmap created with the contributions of local stakeholders. On the first day of the workshop, the experience of Nardüzü Neighbourhood Council as an example of participatory neighbourhood management and how this model could be disseminated both in Arsuz and in Hatay were discussed. In addition, with the study, it was aimed for the Nardüzü Neighbourhood Council representatives to determine the common neighbourhood priorities with a participatory approach. On the second day of the workshop, it was aimed to discuss the determined neighbourhood priorities with the relevant municipality officials and to determine what could be realized within the 2022 budget and/or included in the 2023 budget studies with a participatory approach. In the last session of the workshop, information was given with the participation of mukhtars in Arsuz district to raise awareness about participatory neighbourhood management based on the Nardüzü Neighbourhood Assembly experience.
